At Southern Eye Centers our passion is caring for eyes. It is what we love to do, what we have always done and what our family has been doing for nearly a century. It all started in 1923.  Back then Lacy Bordelon spent 4 days driving a Model T out to California to attended the University of California Berkley.  During those days UC Berkley began offering a Certificate of Optometry and Lacy was a member of one of the first graduating classes.  He returned home to Alexandria, LA in 1925, and began practicing Optometry in the back of the Schnack Jewelry Company.  He did this for 18 years before opening up his own practice.  From then on subsequent generations followed in his footsteps and the legacy began.  For nearly a century and through four generations, 10 members of our family have practiced Optometry in all areas of Louisiana.  With over 300 years of combined professional service, our depth of knowledge passed on from one generation to the next is unmatched by anyone.
